This is a situation that just breaks my heart. At this current time, you will find that there exist loads of sickly, starving, unattended, cheerless, and terrified youngsters doing their best to survive on our cold Long Island streets. These children are out there, on display for everyone to see, unkempt, self-condemning, and depressed.
A good number of these kids eat out of trash bins, as an even greater number have been addicted to illicit substances including crank, crack cocaine, and heroin.
Look, I assure you that it isn't my goal to be a big downer here. I only want to present the reality of the situation to you, and sugar-coating it wouldn't be doing anyone any favors. Likewise, I would like to hopefully motivate and inspire you to actually do something to help. And knowing the exact nature of the dilemma is paramount to fixing it. Not only that, but when you contribute in the way suggested in this article, you actually get some pretty great stuff in return. We'll touch on this a little later on.
First, however, we're going to really try to own these children's sad reality on an emotional level... In the meantime, I would greatly appreciate it if you took part in a brief activity...
Get a clear mental picture of your own child, or a child you love dearly. Picture that little boy or girl dirty, on the streets, and thrown away by the world. See him or her begging for money, or worse, performing "favors" in order to get by. Perhaps this child is addicted to heroin or methamphetamines, infected with the AIDS virus, and having no access to any treatment whatsoever. What is the look in your little one's eyes? Sorrow? Desperation? Fear? Isn't this an absolutely horrific, gut-wrenching thought?
Now put yourself in the picture, approaching your baby, holding him or her with all the care and compassion in the world, and returning this suffering child to your loving home.
The harsh reality is that there really are kids living like this, and they don't have anyone to come and save them from this cruel fate. Their parents may be deceased, or imprisoned, or overtaken by their addictions. There is seemingly zero hope for these unfortunates. And yet you and I have the power to put an end to their suffering right away.
Alright, alright! So what the heck can I do about it?
You can do A LOT! In fact, there is just one word you need to keep in mind. This one word can change many, many lives in a very positive way. The word is DONATE! Donate your unwanted car, truck, van, etc. to your a Long Island car donation charity. This type of organization will make sure that these unfortunate kids are fed, sheltered, educated, treated, and loved.
Will I be otherwise compensated for my contribution?
It amazes me how many folks just accept that they are somehow a lesser person if they want some sort of payment for their auto donation. Believe me when I tell you that there is absolutely nothing at all immoral about desiring things for yourself. I mean, we're dealing with your automobile here. You've got every right to be paid!
That is why you receive capital reimbursement, not necessarily as cash money from the car donation charity, but alternately, as a generous tax deduction from the government. This deduction can potentially be valued even more highly than the car being donated! It goes to show that giving your old vehicle is good for all parties involved.
