Celebrities are a fan of fast cars, after all they have the money and time to be able to buy them and really enjoy them. But Jay Kay from Jamiroquai takes the celebrity car fetish to a whole new level, owning an impressive collection of supercars and other vehicles that have the wow factor.
Mercedes Benz SLS – complete with gullwing doors, the Mercedes is fast and a favourite of the singers. He also owns a 300SL roadster which has to be kept in a dehumidifying garage to preserve it.
Aston Martin V8 – a muscle car with a British feel, the V8 is one of his favourites and rocks the vintage market. Jay Kay also owns an Aston Martin DB5 to give him a classic Bond feel, which he has kept in the shadows since its purchase in 2005.
Ferarri Enzo –built with formula one technology and costing in the region of four hundred and fifty thousand pounds when new, this took Jay Kay onto the serious car owner market. Sadly for him it was vandalised in Suffolk a few years ago, and thirty thousand pounds of damage was caused. His F40, with the fastest production of all time, would have set him back three hundred thousand pounds, and totally added to his Ferrari thirst.
Ferrari 360 Spider – cementing his love of the Ferrari, Jay Kay loves his cars, and this one would have cost him over one hundred thousand pounds. He also has a Ferrari 550 Maranello to bolster his collection further, which comes in at a cool one hundred and fifty thousand pounds. He then went a step further and bought the updated version of the Maranello, the Superamerica, which was released in 2006 and he purchased in the convertible version.
An unusual member of the collection is the Maserati A6G, which is a really rare vehicle and one of only a handful in the world.
