Since the Renault Clio Williams I have not been too impressed with the sporty iterations of the Clio or other smaller Renault models. The Clio Williams was and still is in my opinion one of the best hot hatches. It also marked the success of the Williams F1 Team, success which it had gained using Renault engines. This partnership has been re-ignited for this year after the Williams F1 team announced that it will ditch Cosworth engines for Renault ones.
The latest hot supermini to come from Renault dealer in Hampshire is now ready to order and will be at Renault dealers by the end of this month. The Twingo Renaultsport 133 is powered by a 1.6-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that outs 133hp at 6,750rpm, and has 160Nm of torque available at 4,400rpm. The little pocket rocket can reach a top speed of 125 mph, with a 0-62 mph sprint time of 8.7 seconds.
As well as being very powerful the Renault Twingo RenaultSport is also very eco conscious, it only emits 150 g/km of CO2 emissions. It also returns decent miles to the gallon, on a combined cycle it can achieve 43.5 mpg. There is only one trim specification for the Twingo RenaultSport, but you can specify a Cup chassis. Standard equipment on the car includes 16” alloy wheels, Bluetooth, cruise control, electric Gloss Black door mirrors, ESC (with on/off switch), speed limiter, extra tinted windows and tailgate, Renaultsport exhaust with chrome tailpipe, plus Twingo’s independent sliding and folding rear seats.
Optional extras that can be added are 17” Anthracite or Gloss Black alloy wheels for £500, curtain airbags for £250, metallic paint at £460 or tempting Renaultsport Liquid Yellow i.d. paint for £1,300. The unique-in-class Renaultsport Monitor telemetry system is also available for £125.
